Eulmi (乙未) day pillar
Grass in dry summer fields: tough, practical resilience
What the Eulmi day pillar is like
Eulmi is grass (乙) growing on the dry earth of late summer (未). Wood works the soil, so Indirect Wealth (편재) sits below, and the stage is Nurture (양). Like grass rooting in dry ground, it is read as resilient and practical.
Another 乙 hides in 未 as Friend (비견), so its inner support is stronger than it looks, and 丁 as Eating God (식신) brings good hands and a love of good food. Mild and gentle on the surface, it is careful to get what it needs.
Being used to dry conditions, it tends to put self-care last. Deliberately making time to water body and mind is its homework.
The Eulmi ilju (day pillar), character by character
Number 32 of the sixty-pillar cycle. The table shows what Halmeoni's calendar engine computes for this pillar.
| Fact | Value |
|---|---|
| Top character (day master) | 乙 — grass and vines (yin wood) |
| Bottom character (day branch) | 未 — Goat · earth · late summer (about July) |
| Yin-yang | yin (both characters) |
| Elements | wood above, earth below |
| How the two relate | The top character controls the bottom one: sitting on what you manage and gather. |
| Hidden stems (ten gods) | 丁 Eating God (식신), 乙 Friend (비견), 己 Indirect Wealth (편재) |
| Ten god of the day branch | Indirect Wealth (편재) — money you move around, big chances; for a man, a lover |
| Twelve stages | Nurture (양) — nurtured: growing under care |
| Void branches (공망) | 辰, 巳 — an empty spot: what is hard to hold on to |
Hidden stems are the forces tucked inside the bottom character; the last one listed is the strongest. Ten gods describe each character as seen from the top character, the day master, so the same bottom character gets a different name under a different day master. The void branches are the two that have no partner in this pillar's ten-day week; they only matter when they appear elsewhere in a chart.
The twelve stages here count backwards for yin stems (the 음포태 method). Schools that give yin stems the yang table (양포태) get a different stage for this pillar.
A day pillar is only two of the eight characters in a chart. People who share it can read very differently once the year, month and hour are added, so take this as entertainment, not as a verdict on who you are.
