2027 Chinese zodiac forecast for the Snake
A year to go slowly, without haste · born 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025
2027 is the 丁未 year, a year of the Goat. The year as a whole is described at the top of the 2027 forecast; this page looks only at what it means for the Snake.
2027 for the Snake
The Snake's 巳 and 2027's 未 neither bind nor clash. Read it as a year to run your own plans without much shaking.
By the twelve spirits (12신살, a Korean set of nicknames read from your animal), 2027's 未 is the Moon Spirit (things held back, slow going) for the Snake. Things may move slowly; don't let it make you hasty.
The Snake's 2027, month by month
In saju (Four Pillars astrology) a month starts at a solar term, not on the 1st. Below are the twelve month pillars of 2027 and what each does to the Snake's branch 巳: harmony, clash, punishment, resentment or harm. A month with none of these is read by its spirit (12신살).
| Month | Month pillar | What it brings |
|---|---|---|
| February (from Ipchun, start of spring) | 壬寅 | Punishment (형): friction comes easily. Check papers, rules and your health. |
| March (from Gyeongchip, insects awaken) | 癸卯 | Calamity (feeling hemmed in, gossip). Say less, so as not to get drawn into gossip or disputes. |
| April (from Cheongmyeong, clear and bright) | 甲辰 | Heaven (what is beyond your control). Rather than fight what you can't control, go with the flow. |
| May (from Ipha, start of summer) | 乙巳 | Your own branch: your energy runs strong. Push ahead, but ease off on stubbornness. |
| June (from Mangjong, grain in ear) | 丙午 | Peach Blossom (charm, popularity). Good for meeting people and making yourself known. |
| July (from Soseo, minor heat) | 丁未 | Moon Spirit (things held back, slow going). Things may move slowly; don't let it make you hasty. |
| August (from Ipchu, start of autumn) | 戊申 | Punishment (형): friction comes easily. Check papers, rules and your health. |
| September (from Baengno, white dew) | 己酉 | Half combination (반합): like-minded people pull together. Good for growing what you started. |
| October (from Hallo, cold dew) | 庚戌 | Resentment (원진): small hurts build up with people close to you. Talk them through as they come. |
| November (from Ipdong, start of winter) | 辛亥 | Clash (충): a shaky month. Don't rush a move, a job change or a big purchase. |
| December (from Daeseol, major snow) | 壬子 | Six Harms (small hindrances, minor ailments). Don't let small hindrances push you around, and look after your health. |
| January 2028 (from Sohan, minor cold) | 癸丑 | Half combination (반합): like-minded people pull together. Good for growing what you started. |
For the Snake, the strongest months of 2027 are September and January 2028. Think big decisions through twice in February, August, October and November.
How 2027 differs by birth year
People born under the Snake differ in the top character (heavenly stem) of their birth year. Grouped by what 2027's top character, 丁, is to that character (the ten gods, 십신), it looks like this:
| Born | Year pillar | Age in 2027 | What 2027 brings |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1941, 2001 | 辛巳 | 86, 26 | Energy that governs you (편관·정관): more weight from duty, work and rules; things that test your standing come up. |
| 1953, 2013 | 癸巳 | 74, 14 | Energy you handle (편재·정재): money and work move, bringing chances to earn and reasons to spend. The two top characters clash: plans wobble, so leave slack in your schedule. |
| 1965, 2025 | 乙巳 | 62, 2 | Energy you give out (식신·상관): words and talents come alive, good for starting something. Just don't let your mouth run ahead. |
| 1977 | 丁巳 | 50 | The same energy (비견·겁재): more peers and rivals, and a wish to do it yourself. Money slips out through others, so go carefully with guarantees and partnerships. |
| 1989 | 己巳 | 38 | Energy that helps you (편인·정인): study, qualifications, papers and help from elders. Don't think so long that you miss the moment. |
Ages are as of your birthday in 2027. A real reading starts from the top character of your birth day; this table by birth year is only one step closer than the animal alone.
Animals that suit the Snake, and those that rub
- Ox and Rooster: half combination (반합, two of a trine). You think alike and work together easily.
- Monkey: six harmony (육합). Drawn to each other, each filling what the other lacks.
- Pig: clash (충). You collide head-on, though the difference can spur you both.
- Tiger and Monkey: punishment (형). The closer you are, the more nagging and friction.
- Dog: resentment (원진). Hurt builds up for no clear reason, so say what you feel.
- Tiger: harm (해). Small misunderstandings creep in; confirm what matters.
Animal compatibility compares just one character each: the bottom of each birth year. Real compatibility reads both whole charts, above all the characters of the birth days, so take this as a hint only.
Before you read an animal's year
Your animal is only one of the eight characters of a saju chart: the bottom character of your birth year. People of the same animal meet the same year very differently depending on their birth month, day and hour, and a reading actually starts from the top character of your birth day. Take the animal's year as the general mood; for your own year, get a reading from your birth date and time.
The zodiac year turns at Ipchun (about 4 February), not on 1 January or the Lunar New Year: if you were born in January or early February, you may belong to the previous animal.
